Privately HeldAbout the RoleThe Company is in search of a Vice President of Innovation to spearhead the next generation of eye care advancements. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and evolving the strategic direction of the Innovation Lab, leading a team to manage a robust pipeline of innovative candidates, and identifying new opportunities for acceleration. This role demands a leader with a strong scientific and commercial background, capable of analyzing and prioritizing bold, science-driven opportunities that have the potential to redefine standards of care. The VP of Innovation will also be tasked with developing actionable business plans, evaluating unmet needs, and navigating the complex landscape of clinical, regulatory, and reimbursement considerations to ensure the success of early-stage programs.Applicants for the Vice President of Innovation position at the company should hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent in life sciences or engineering, with an MBA or formal business training strongly preferred. A minimum of 15 years' experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences early-stage ventures is required, with a proven track record of strategic thinking and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ophthalmology or adjacent specialties, and a background that demonstrates a compelling innovation focus. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential, as is an innovative mindset that fosters unconventional thinking and is grounded in a commitment to patient outcomes. The role also involves serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership and requires the ability to influence and deliver insights to a range of stakeholders.Travel Percent
