Trimmer Operator - 1st Shift - Pay up to $17/hrShift Description:1st Shift - 6:00am - 4:00pm - (Monday - Thursday)Job DescriptionThe Production Operator oversees equipment used to process rubber materials for playgrounds, running tracks, and other applications. This role involves accurately weighing materials, following batch sheets, monitoring product quality, and supporting shipping and general manufacturing activities. The Production Operator maintains a clean, organized work area and contributes to a collaborative, cross-trained team environment.ResponsibilitiesOversee and operate equipment involved in processing rubber materials for various applications such as playgrounds and running tracks.Accurately weigh materials and interpret batch sheets to ensure each product meets required specifications.Verify product samples during and after production to confirm that quality standards are consistently met.Help prepare finished products for shipping once the processing cycle is complete.Assist with additional tasks on the manufacturing floor as needed to support overall production flow.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company standards.Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed to move materials and finished products.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around machinery, materials, and equipment.Collaborate with team members and participate in cross-training to support different stages of the production process.Essential SkillsExperience in production or manufacturing environments.Ability to accurately read and interpret measurements to follow batch sheets.Capability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.Forklift operation experience or willingness to learn forklift operation.Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds throughout the shift.Attention to detail to ensure products are produced to specification and meet quality standards.Reliability and flexibility to work required shifts and mandatory overtime as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious mixing or compounding experience preferred but not required.Experience with compounding or mixing processes in a manufacturing setting is a plus.Comfort working with rubber materials and around industrial machinery.Willingness to learn new processes and develop additional skills through cross-training.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers a stable role in a small company that values a strong, laid-back culture and cross-training across functions. The plant is not climate-controlled and can become very hot in the summer due to the nature of the product and machinery, so candidates should be comfortable working in a warm industrial environment. First shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and second shift runs from 3:45 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Team members should be prepared to work mandatory overtime on Fridays as needed and may have the option of voluntary overtime on some Saturdays. Dress expectations align with a typical manufacturing setting, requiring practical, safety-focused attire suitable for working around machinery and materials.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Barberton, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.25 - $16.25/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
