Managing nearly 20,000 acres across California, Oregon, and Washington, GSF focuses on transitioning conventional operations to sustainable farming systems. The team oversees crop planning, soil health, organic certification, harvest operations, and tenant coordination. Working collaboratively with Farmland LP, GSF manages over $350 million in agricultural assets to create long-term value for investors, operators, and the land.Position SummaryThe HR Generalist is a part-time role supporting all areas of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll coordination, performance management, and HR related trainings. This role ensures HR policies are applied consistently, supports a people-first culture, and serves as a trusted resource to managers and employees. Responsibilities will be prioritized to align with the part-time schedule, with workload fluctuating based on seasonal hiring cycles and organizational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain employee records, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policiesAdminister HR policies, procedures, and programs for all staff, including HR related training and documentationCoordinate HR reporting and compliance documentation related to local, state, and federal laws. Examples include but are not limited to EEO, OSHA, CalOSHA, BOLI, etc.Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and proceduresSupport payroll and benefits administration in coordination with the Assistant Controller and Office ManagerSupport recruitment and onboarding of new hires as needed, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and preparation of offer lettersSupport managers in developing and updating job descriptions as positions are created or revisedAssist with performance review and training processes, ensuring alignment with existing goal-based performance programsAssist leadership with administration, and ongoing implementation of performance-based bonus compensation programsSupport managers on an as-needed basis by researching and analyzing market compensation data for current and new positions, informing salary recommendations, and supporting personnel budgeting.Assist managers with disciplinary investigations, documentation of performance issues, corrective action processes, and termination procedures, ensuring compliance and consistencyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field3–5 years of HR generalist experienceMust be bilingual in English and SpanishKnowledge of HR laws, compliance, and payroll coordinationStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsProficiency in HRIS and Microsoft OfficeSHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
