SummaryThe Paramedic performs a variety of duties to assist the nursing staff in rendering patient care in the Emergency Department within the limit of the State of Ohio certification guidelines.Education, Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesIn-depth knowledge of clinical practice applicable to population served including pathophysiology, emergency management, and evaluation.Demonstrates effective leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.Knowledge and understanding of basic patient care activities to include basic hygiene, skin care, feeding, normal vital signs and other general hands-on patient care functions normally attained through one or more years of formal training.Required Length And Type Of ExperienceParamedic preferred. A minimum of one year recent patient care experience in a hospital, nursing home, or healthcare field. Department, Critical Care Unit, or Critical Care Transport preferred. Required Licensure Or CertificationCurrent license State of Ohio EMT - ParamedicCurrent ACLS certificationBTLS or the equivalent preferred.
