Location:Secaucus, New JerseyJob Summary:The Director of Human Resources - Retail (Stores & Upper Field Support) serves as a strategic business partner to retail leadership, driving people strategies that support store performance, employee engagement, and organizational growth across a multi-country footprint. This role reports to the VP, HR & Talent Management and is based in the corporate office in Secaucus, NJ. The Director works closely with the GVP, Head of Stores, and Store Operations team to align HR strategies with business priorities and operational execution. The role leads and develops a team of HR Business Partners supporting stores across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, ensuring a consistent and high-impact HR approach across all regions. This leader oversees talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, and compliance, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior field leaders to enhance operational effectiveness and the employee experience.Responsibilities:Key Accountabilities:Partner closely with the GVP, Head of Stores, and Store Operations team to develop and execute HR strategies that drive sales, productivity, and customer experienceLead, coach, and develop a team of HR Business Partners supporting retail field organizations across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto RicoDrive talent management initiatives including succession planning, leadership development, and performance management for store and field leadershipProvide strategic guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management across a multi-region retail structureOversee employee relations strategy, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies while mitigating risk across jurisdictionsAnalyze HR metrics and retail KPIs to identify trends and deliver actionable insights to senior leadershipChampion culture and engagement initiatives that improve retention and team effectiveness across storesEnsure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local labor laws and company policiesPartner with Talent Acquisition and Learning teams to support hiring, onboarding, and development of store and field leadersSupport and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the retail organizationEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred)10+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant focus in retail or multi-unit environments5+ years of leadership experience managing HR teams or HR Business Partners · Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed populations across multiple regions or countries · Proven ability to influence senior leaders, including heads of retail or store operations · Strong track record of driving talent and organizational strategies in a fast-paced retail environmentSkills & Behaviors:Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable HR initiativesStrong business acumen with deep understanding of retail operations and performance driversExceptional relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior executivesData-driven decision maker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication and presentation skills with executive presenceAbility to manage complexity, balance competing priorities, and deliver results across regionsHigh level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgmentCollaborative and inclusive leadership style with a focus on developing high-performing teamsAdaptable and resilient in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environmentPassion for people, culture, and creating a best-in-class employee experienceAbility to travel if neededExperience with talent systems; WorkdayHourly/Salary$115,000.00 - $225,000.00 Salaryo Benefits include: Bonus eligible (depending on role), Paid Time Off, Employee Discount, 401(k) and company match, Wellness Reimbursement, Adoption Assistance, free backup care (for kids, pets & the elderly), choice of health insurance plans, company-paid life/AD&D, short and long term disability, a variety of voluntary benefits and an employee assistance program.
