HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):
As an Accounting Clerk, you will be the primary support for the Accounting Department. Job duties include maintaining accounts payable, accounts receivable, providing support for audits, and assisting with administrative duties.
Process Accounts Receivable invoices for customers which include:
Fulfilling sales orders, preparing invoices, mailing/emailing, posting to customer website, etc. (as required), printing copy in electronic job file.
Maintain customer files in Globe.
Reconcile Accounts Receivable subsidiaries to general ledger (GL) on a monthly basis.
Contacting customers for collections on past due accounts.
Make collection calls on past due accounts.
Process Accounts Payable invoices for payment which include:
Checking invoices for accuracy in coding, verifying required supporting documentation (i.e. PO and receiving documents), verifying that PO’s match invoices, ensuring that all invoices have appropriate signatures.
Entering invoices into accounting software, cutting and mailing checks, filing paid invoices.
Verifying that a signed W-9 is on file prior to payment nd maintaining vendor files.
Maintain purchase order processing system including necessary training in Globe.
Reconcile Accounts Payable subsidiaries to general ledger (GL) on a monthly basis.
Reviewing vendor statements and ensuring all accounts are kept current.
Assist Accountant with other accounting related items as needed.
Assist Accountant with preparation of schedules for audits.
Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as needed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
High School Diploma or GED. Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
2 years of experience or education in accounting. Will consider recent Accounting or Finance graduates.
Microsoft Office Suite with strong experience in Excel
