Welder I - 3rd Shift
divh2Welding Position/h2pThis position is expected to perform all activities required within the welding department to produce components for customer orders. These tasks include, but are not limited to, TIG welding of sheet metal, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as cutting, punching, and rolling of extruded aluminum bar. Welders are also responsible for all touch-up paint work. This position can expect to be reassigned to other departments frequently as business needs dictate./ph3Duties and Responsibilities:/h3ulliTIG weld formed aluminum and stainless-steel sheet metal components to production specification and quality requirements./liliPrep, prime, and paint welded parts./liliOperate semi-automated extrusion saw./liliPunching extruded bar./liliSlitting and rolling radius extruded bar./liliMaterial handling to include forklift movement and unloading truck./liliAccurately manage productivity through our production control system (ERP) as orders are completed./liliObserve plant safety requirements and advise management on safety concerns through near miss and incident reporting./liliMaintain work area to established 6S standard./liliServe as a helper or machine operator on shears, presses, packaging/shipping or any other additional duties, as required by management./liliAttend and participate in department and shift meetings including trainings for safety and other workplace training./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulh3Required Knowledge / Skills/Abilities:/h3ulliMust be 18 years of age or older./liliRead and understand production orders and blueprint drawings./liliWelding experience and certification preferred but not required./liliStrong mathematical and measurement skills, especially ruler (to 1/64) and protractor./liliFlexible team player with a solid work ethic and reliability./liliWell-developed interpersonal skills to allow effective communication with other team members and leadership./liliStrong attention to detail./liliResourceful problem-solver who works well independently./liliForklift experience preferred but not required./li/ulh3Education and Experience:/h3ulliHigh School Diploma or GED/liliWelding Certification Preferred/lili1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a welding work-cell./li/ulh3Working Conditions:/h3ulliFast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outdoor temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels./liliHours Worked: Sun-Thurs: 10PM - 6AM/liliFlexible to the possibility of overtime when required./li/ulh3Physical Requirements:/h3pOCCASIONALLY - FREQUENTLY - CONTINUOUSLY/pp(0-30%) - (31-60%) - (61-100%)/ppLIFTING OR CARRYING/pp1-10 LBS - X/pp11-20 LBS - X/pp21-40 LBS - X/pp41-50 LBS - X/pp51 OR MORE LBS/ppPUSHING OR PULLING:/pp1-40 LBS - X/pp41-50 LBS - X/pp51 OR MORE LBS/ppBENDING OR STOOPING - X/ppREACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL - X/ppDRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP.
