This is a high‐impact role for a hands‐on accounting professional who thrives in a fast‐paced, data‐driven environment, and will help build a disciplined and scalable revenue and royalties accounting foundation as Nex expands across multiple channels and global markets. What You'll DoLead and execute the month‐end revenue and royalties close process , coordinating with internal teams and outsourced accounting advisors to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting. Own Technical Revenue Accounting policy and procedure , ensuring revenue recognition models comply with ASC 606 and continuously monitoring company activities to keep the revenue policy current with growth. Review complex balance‐sheet reconciliations , including accounts receivable, deferred revenue, accrued royalties and any associated prepaids, ensuring accuracy and maintaining audit‐ready supporting documentation. Prepare and manage audit supportfor assigned areas, developing audit‐ready schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely resolution of inquiries. Drive improvements to accounting processes, systems and data workflows , leveraging Excel, power‐query, AI and BI tools to reduce manual effort and enhance data accuracy. Play a critical role in the evolution of data systems, working cross‐functionally with Data Analytics and Engineering teams. Make recommendations on systems solutions to automate and scale revenue recognition, royalty calculations and partner reporting. Collaborate cross‐functionallywith FinOps, Supply Chain, and Fulfillment teams to validate revenue accounting data flows and ensure consistent treatment across operational systems. Assist with the implementation and optimization of ERP and business systemsto support scalable revenue accounting processes as the company grows. What You Bring10+ yearsof progressive accounting experience, 4+ years of people management. Ideally within entertainment, consumer electronics, e‐commerce, or hardware businesses; early‐stage startup experience preferred. Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, debits and credits, with an emphasis on ASC 606 and ASC 340‐40. Advanced Excel and data skills with ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets. Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, NetSuite ARM preferred). Bonus if familiar with Blackline or FloQast; familiarity with Stripe, POSA/Gift Cards, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, and various retailer sales and fulfillment systems. Experience with royalty contracts and calculations within consumer media and entertainment (including mobile and video games). Previous experience designing and implementing sales data automation solutions; demonstrated track record of process improvement and building scalable accounting operations. Exceptional attention to detail, ability to work independently, ownership mentality, and drive results in a fast‐paced environment.
