Job Description Position SummaryTechStream, LLC is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager/Controller to lead and scale the accounting function in a fast-paced start-up environment. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for a proactive and resourceful accounting professional who thrives in building processes, improving controls, and supporting a growing business.The Accounting Manager/Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, cash management, and process improvements while partnering closely with leadership on strategic and operational initiatives. This individual must be comfortable operating both strategically and tactically in a lean organization where flexibility and ownership are critical to success.This position offers the opportunity to help shape the finance infrastructure of a growing technology company and play a key role in supporting future growth and scalability.The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial ReportingManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsPrepare accurate and timely financial reports for managementMaintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesDevelop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a growing organizationEnsure financial records are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practicesResearch and apply current accounting pronouncements and technical accounting guidance as neededOperational FinanceOversee core accounting functions including:Accounts PayableAccounts ReceivableTreasury/Cash ManagementExpense reportingPayroll coordinationMonitor cash flow and assist with forecasting and budgeting activitiesSupport leadership with financial analysis and operational insightsAssist with vendor management and banking relationshipsSystems & Process ImprovementAssist with implementation, optimization, and maintenance of accounting and ERP systemsIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve reporting capabilitiesHelp build scalable finance and accounting infrastructure to support company growthAudit & ComplianceCoordinate external audits, tax support, and lender requests as applicableEnsure supporting schedules and documentation are properly maintainedSupport compliance with corporate governance and internal control requirementsLeadership & CollaborationPartner cross-functionally with operations, leadership, and external advisorsProvide mentorship and guidance to future accounting staff as the company growsOperate as a trusted business partner in a collaborative start-up environmentQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA preferredMinimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience; 10+ years preferredCombination of public accounting and industry experience strongly preferredExperience working in a start-up, high-growth technology, or service-based xaygatp environment preferredStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience with cloud-based accounting systems (such as Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems) preferredExposure to international accounting operations is a plusSkills & AttributesHands-on, resourceful, and adaptable with a willingness to operate across all areas of financeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervisionStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentialityAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to balance detailed execution with strategic thinkingWork EnvironmentHybrid work environmentFull-time positionFast-paced, collaborative start-up culture with significant opportunity for growth and impact
