Real Estate Counsel | Leasing & Transactional
Our client, a well-capitalized, privately held commercial real estate investment and development company based in South Florida, is seeking to add an experienced real estate attorney to its in-house legal team. This is an opportunity to join a highly active and entrepreneurial real estate platform with a long-term investment strategy and a collaborative, business-oriented legal department. We are partnering directly with the General Counsel on this search. The role will focus primarily on commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and general transactional matters across a diverse national portfolio that includes industrial, multifamily, retail, and other commercial real estate assets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior business leadership and cross-functional teams throughout the organization, including leasing, development, construction, property management, and accounting. The legal team is viewed as a strategic business partner and is closely integrated into the company’s investment and operational activities. This role is well suited for a practical, solutions-oriented attorney who is comfortable handling sophisticated real estate transactions while also operating in a collaborative, hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage matters independently while working effectively across teams and with outside counterparties.Responsibilities:Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial real estate documents, including:Industrial, multifamily, retail, and office leases, together with related documentation such as amendments, guaranties, estoppel certificates, SNDAs, and commencement agreements; andPurchase and sale agreements and other transactional documents for acquisitions and dispositions across a national real estate portfolio.Handle leasing and transactional matters from LOI through closing, including coordination of due diligence, title and survey review, closing documentation, and post-closing matters.Partner with leasing, acquisitions, asset management, construction, accounting, and property management teams to provide practical legal guidance on lease interpretation, transactional issues, and day-to-day operational matters.Review and resolve title, survey, zoning, and other real estate diligence issues arising in connection with leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing-related matters.Draft and negotiate reciprocal easement agreements, declarations, access agreements, brokerage agreements, commission agreements, and other ancillary real estate documents.Manage critical lease administration and post-execution matters, including commencement and expiration dates, delivery obligations, tenant improvement obligations, rent commencement, and landlord and tenant deliverables.Assist with enforcement of lease and contractual rights, including preparation of notices, default correspondence, and other transactional communications.Coordinate with and oversee outside counsel on discrete litigation, bankruptcy, condemnation, land use, and other specialized real estate matters, as needed.Required Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in good standing;10+ years of relevant commercial real estate law experience and commensurate subject matter expertiseFlorida Bar admission or eligibility to become a registered in-house counsel in Florida;Experience handling industrial and retail leasing;Experience leading complex real estate transactions including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, development, and financing matters;Experience advising businesses with ownership interest in multi-family real estate joint ventures;Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills;Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; andCollaborative, business-minded approach with the ability to work effectively across legal and non-leIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page Distinction Our teams, comprised of subject matter experts, develop an interest in your preferences and goals and we act as an advisor for your career advancement.
