We want self-motivated professionals ready to take on new challenges and grow with us as we expand our project needs.What We Are Proud To Offer YouMedical/TelemedicineDentalVisionFlexible Spending Account 401K Life Insurance Health and Wellness Programs Holiday Pay Sick Time PayUniversal Equipment Operator Hunter Contracting, specializing in civil infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Universal Equipment Operator responsible for operating various types of construction equipment.Responsible ForOperating hand wheels, levers, and depresses pedals to drive machines and control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms.Grading or redistributing earth, aggregates, or materials for the construction or repair of structures, highways, and roads.Operating GPS and laser leveling machine to regulate elevation and angle of slopes performing rough grading.Fastening attachments or accessories to equipment, and aligning depth gauge marker with reference stakes and guidelines on ground or positioning equipment following hand signals.Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly.Inspecting equipment for deficiencies, such as tires, lights, brakes, fuses and fluid levels, and submits report indicating equipment condition.Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, survey markers and stakesSignaling directions and warnings to coworkers.Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.Adhering to all Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies, procedures.Work QualificationsKnowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective construction or repair of structures, highways, and roads.Has a great deal of awareness of soil conditions and proper slopes.Judges distances and slopes with accuracy.Must be familiar with load charts and lifting capabilities.Knowledge and understanding of Blue Stake markings.Takes pride in craftsmanship, works within precise standards of accuracyPrioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.Practices good safety habits.Education & Work Experience RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience operating an excavator, finish blade, dozer, loader, backhoe, Gannon, scraper and self-propelled compactor, AND,Two (2) years’ experience with TopCon GPS; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesWe do E-Verify, Background Checks and Drug ScreensWomen, Minorities and Veterans are encouraged to apply.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY statementHunter provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
