By joining our network, you position yourself for opportunities aligned with your career goals.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test embedded firmware for manufacturing equipment and automation systems.Troubleshoot and debug embedded hardware and software issues on the production floor.Integrate embedded systems with industrial machinery, sensors, and control systems.Optimize embedded code for real-time performance, efficiency, and reliability in a production environment.Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate embedded system functionality and robustness.Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on system integration and hardware design.Provide technical support for embedded systems throughout the product lifecycle, including manufacturing ramp-up.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M), and real-time operating systems (RTOS).Experience with hardware/firmware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment.Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, EtherCAT) and sensor integration.Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation for troubleshooting.Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation, data acquisition, or build processes.Bonus QualificationsExperience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET).Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508) or designing for harsh industrial environments.Hands-on experience with PCB design and hardware prototyping for custom solutions.Experience developing automated test fixtures or software for manufacturing production lines.Familiarity with PLC programming or SCADA system integration.Job Titles That Should ApplyEmbedded Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer, IoT Engineer, Real-Time Embedded Engineer, Embedded C Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, Robotics Engineer, Hardware-Software Integration EngineerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
