Job Description
Position: Budtender / Técnico de Dispensario
Position Reports to: Management Team
Overview
The budtender is the customer service expert in charge of guiding patients through understanding, selecting, and acquiring cannabis products, such as flowers, concentrates edibles, and topical, in congruence with the company's vision and goals. It is also responsible for maintaining optimum conditions for the products and patients in the dispensary. Budtender must not only be a customer service specialist and therefore extremely knowledgeable in the area of medical marijuana, but also be friendly and compassionate first and foremost. As expected, when working in a small shop, a budtender is expected to assist the Manager in administrative/receptionist duties.
Authority Level
· None. It will be guided by specific policies and concrete reference frameworks.
Essential Functions:
§ Maintain all aspects of the operation in running efficiently.
§ Make sure that the Company complies with OSHA Health and Safety regulations.
§ Greeting patients into the dispensary area and verifies proper paperwork, ID and documentation required by the Cannabis Law in Puerto Rico.
§ Interview the patient to recommend accurate medication.
§ Instruct patients in the correct use of the medication following state regulations.
§ Explain to the patient the different products available and their effects.
§ Informs patients about promotions, products, special offers, new products, and popular products in harmony with patient needs.
§ Assist management team cashier functions using POS system and updating patient profiles and inventory changes in the system.
§ Ensure compliance with dosages sale permitted by laws and regulations.
§ Registers daily sales as instructed correctly using the point-of-sale systems.
§ Re-stock retail inventory consistently and on a timely basis
§ Assist management in opening, receiving, and closing tasks.
§ Complete daily registers as required.
§ Assist management in the required and appropriate handling of the inventory.
§ Takes out of display and promotion areas any expired or about expired products.
§ Daily stocks display inventory following procedure as instructed.
Answers phones.
§ Complies with dispensary security and safety guidelines.
§ Supports management team to ensure dispensary daily operations, including maintenance, security, safety, and sales.
§ Maintains open communications with team members and the management team.
§ Canalize customers’ issues and complaints to the management team.
§ Complies with dispensary operating policies and standards.
§ Other duties assigned during the work schedule as needed.
Labor Conditions
§ Variable temperatures inside the office (60-65F)
§ The work is carried out in comfortable, hygienic, and safe facilities.
§ Most of the time the work is done standing up with little physical activity.
Requirements:
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
▪ Effective listening skills, patience and tolerance when dealing with difficult customers/patients.
▪ Fast response time.
▪ Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
▪ Knowledge about the processes involved in resolving product or service-related issues when highlighted by a customer/patient.
▪ Ability to work with and listen to patients daily.
▪ Capability to work standing.
▪ Knowledge of basic computer software programs.
▪ Compromise of abiding dispensary and state policies and regulations.
Other requirements
▪ Rotating schedule.
▪ Schedule from Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 8:00pm
▪ 9 months probationary period with on-week coaching and training.
Qualifications
▪ Must be at least 21 years old.
▪ Must possess state Occupational License.
▪ Must possess a state approved Budtender Course.
▪ Valid Identification.
▪ Under come background check.
▪ Certificate of Good Behavior.
