Duties
Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
Execute a wide range of painting tasks using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and power tools.
Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine project scope, color schemes, and specific surface requirements.
Install fixtures, trim carpentry, moldings, and perform restoration or renovation work with precision.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople like carpenters or subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and project progress for accurate estimation and reporting purposes.
Experience
Proven experience as a Journeyman Painter (5+ years) with a strong background in construction painting projects.
Familiarity with surface preparation techniques such as plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry finishing, and concrete work.
Ability to perform renovation tasks like fixture installation or restoration work efficiently.
Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise application of paints or coatings.
Additional handyman skills such as carpentry (trim framing), masonry (stucco/masonry), welding or maintenance are considered valuable assets.
Be willing to work out of initial area when necessary.
Practice self-supervision on small jobs and ensure you complete each project in an efficient, timely manner.
Must be reliable, trustworthy, and punctual. This inclides having reliable transportation (access to a truck or a van preferred).
