Job ID 2611419Location Rock Island, IL, USDate Posted 2026-04-22Category TrainingSubcategory Human PerformanceSchedule Full-TimeShift Day JobTravel NoMinimum Clearance Required NoneClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain SecretPotential for Remote Work ORA_ON_SITEDescriptionSAIC is seeking a Nutrition and Dietary Consultant located at Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois to support the First Army Mobilization Assistance Team Holistic Soldier Readiness (HSR) Program to promote the health, performance, and readiness of Soldiers through personalized nutrition counseling, education on fueling and hydration strategies, and optimizing food options in dining facilities and field settings while using data to create effective, evidence-based nutrition plans, and educating Soldiers about safe supplement use.Job DescriptionIndividual & Group Counseling Provides tailored nutrition counseling for Soldiers regarding performance, weight management (Army Body Composition Program), disordered eating, and special dietary needs.Performance Nutrition Education Educates Soldiers on proper fueling and hydration for training, combat operations, and recovery to enhance performance on the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).Performance-Based Menu Optimization Collaborates with unit and installation food service teams to optimize dining facility (DEFAC) menus, improve food, beverage, and product choices, and develop field feeding plans.Interdisciplinary Teamwork Works with Army leaders, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Athletic Trainers, and Occupational Therapists to implement the H2F program and coordinate care for injured Soldiers.Data-Driven Interventions Utilizes relevant data to identify nutritional concerns and implements evidence-based strategies to drive behavior change in Soldiers.Program Development Collects outcome data to assess nutrition programming effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement, and monitors long-term impacts on unit readiness.Supplement Education Guides soldiers in navigating the supplement market, including education on unsafe or prohibited products. QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's and one (1)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience in assessing nutrition needs, providing counseling, and developing organization-wide nutrition programs to professional or collegiate sports programs; experience with military audiences preferred.Required ClearanceMust be able to obtain a Secret clearance, No Clearance required prior to hire, SAIC will help to obtain. Must have current US Citizenship. Target salary range $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
