Senior Trade Accountant

Overview Now Hiring: Senior Trade Accountant – Energy Trading (Stamford, CT | Hybrid) We're partnering with a leading global commodity trading firm, that continues to expand its trading and finance operations. As the business grows, they are looking to bring on a Senior Trade Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting of complex commodity trading activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced trading environment where accounting works closely with front, mid, and back office teams to support global energy markets and trading operations. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience (trading environment preferred) Experience with financial instruments, derivatives, or energy trading accounting is a strong plus Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Responsibilities Reconciling trading systems to the general ledger across multiple trading books Supporting mark-to-market (MTM) accounting and trading P&L analysis Analyzing energy commodity contracts such as natural gas, oil, and refined products under IFRS / US GAAP Preparing P&L, balance sheet, and analytical reports for management Partnering with front office and mid-office teams to resolve reconciliation differences and outstanding accruals Supporting financial reporting, audits, and SOX compliance initiatives Why This Role Join a well-established global commodity trading firm with continued growth Work directly with the Senior Vice President of Trade Accounting Strong exposure to energy trading, derivatives, and financial instruments accounting Strong benefits package + PTO + 401(k) Hybrid schedule (Fridays work from home) Opportunity to build expertise in commodity and derivatives accounting If you have experience in trade accounting, derivatives accounting, or financial instruments accounting within a trading environment , we'd love to connect.
