About the Social Enterprise: Salud y Acceso is a student-led global health and patient-navigation social enterprise dedicated to systematically dismantling linguistic, socioeconomic, and institutional barriers to healthcare for underserved populations. While our local hubs handle direct onsite patient navigation, our organization operates a virtual "Remote Humanitarian Hub". We utilize data automation tools, secure cloud pipelines, and statistical risk models to deploy remote translation support and clinical triage tracking to underfunded rural clinics globally. To scale our digital infrastructure this fall, we are actively recruiting remote undergraduate and graduate volunteers for our Technical Engineering & Data Corps: Python Software Developer / NLP Engineer: Help expand, test, and optimize our proprietary multi-language text processing scripts. You will assist in refining automated clinical intake parsing tools that safely translate patient symptom logs across languages (English, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole) while maintaining strict data privacy encryption. Public Health Data Analyst / GIS Specialist: Utilize statistical modeling tools to process remote health data inputs. Help build preventative epidemiological risk maps and triage dashboards that track regional health trends and outbreak metrics for underfunded clinics in international sectors. UI/UX Front-End Developer: Optimize the interface of our secure Google Workspace portals and digital intake gateways, ensuring frictionless, language-accessible layouts for both families and remote volunteer physicians. Qualifications: Academic Level: Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Public Health Informatics, or related STEM fields. Technical Skills: Foundational or advanced proficiency in Python, data processing libraries (Pandas/NumPy), Git, or digital interface design. Ethics & Security: An absolute, unbreakable commitment to data privacy, secure information handling, and health equity. Availability: 3–5 hours per week, managed entirely remotely and flexibly around your academic schedule.
