Hospice Aide
Job Summary

Responsibilities
Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs.
Monitor and observe patient conditions regularly, recording vital signs and reporting changes to nursing staff promptly.
Support patients with medication reminders and basic medication administration following medical documentation protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral management strategies.
Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures under supervision or as directed by nursing staff.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning patient areas, and meal preparation to promote overall well-being.
Document patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to ensure seamless communication among care team members.
Requirements
Prior experience in hospice care, nursing home settings, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond effectively to changing conditions.
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and infection control practices including CPR certification.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is advantageous.
Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems for medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Ability to lift or transfer patients safely using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts; experience with catheter care and other medical procedures is a plus.
Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities; compassionate attitude essential for providing hospice support.
Valid certification in CPR; additional certifications in hospice care or long-term care are beneficial.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
