This role is responsible for optimizing machining processes, improving throughput and quality, and leading CNC programming and process development initiatives across production lines. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, 'working' engineer capable of troubleshooting, programming, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.Key Responsibilities Of The Senior Manufacturing EngineerOptimize machining processes to improve OEE, reduce scrap, and increase throughputDevelop, modify, and validate CNC programs for lathes and milling machines (vertical and horizontal)Lead toolpath development and cutting strategy optimization for automotive componentsIdentify and implement optimal tooling, inserts, and work-holding solutionsTroubleshoot machining issues including cycle time, tool wear, chatter, and dimensional variationCollaborate with Quality to ensure process capability (Cp/Cpk) and first-piece validationDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principlesDevelop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standardsWork cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and quality teamsRequired Qualifications Of The Senior Manufacturing EngineerBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience in automotive manufacturingExpertise in CNC lathes and milling machines (Fuji, Mori Seiki preferred)Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam or similar) and AutoCADStrong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stack-upsExperience with CMMs, Zoller tool pre-setters, and measurement systemsKnowledge of carbide tooling, inserts, and tool holdersExperience with fixtures (hydraulic and pneumatic) and work-holding designStrong knowledge of SPC, capability studies, and process controlHands-on troubleshooting and shop floor support experiencePreferred Qualifications Of The Senior Manufacturing EngineerExperience in high-volume automotive production environmentsBackground in multi-axis machiningFamiliarity with ERP/MES systemsSix Sigma or Lean certificationExperience leading process improvement projectsA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.By applying for this role, you confirm that all information submitted is accurate and complete.
