About the Company: A publicly traded, SEC-registered organization with a complex, multi-entity structure and both domestic and international operations.About the Job: The Assistant Corporate Controller is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the Corporate Controller, responsible for corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. This position owns the corporate ledger and monthly close process, supports consolidation across business units, and leads key technical accounting initiatives while managing a small team.Key responsibilities include:Overseeing the monthly close process and preparation of corporate financial statementsReviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses to ensure accuracy and completenessLeading consolidation efforts in coordination with business unit controllersAnalyzing financial results to identify trends, variances, and unusual activityServing as a key liaison with internal and external auditors, including SOX complianceManaging technical accounting areas such as leases (ASC 842), impairments, and financial disclosuresPreparing debt covenant calculations and supporting financial reporting requirementsConducting technical accounting research and drafting audit-ready memosSupporting foreign currency risk analysis and hedging strategiesMaintaining ERP and consolidation systemsCoaching and developing accounting staffMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in AccountingCPA required5-8+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and ERP systemsExperience with domestic and international consolidationsProven ability to lead and develop accounting staffCompensation: $140,000 -$165,000 base salary plus bonus.Worksite: On-site in Buffalo.
