JOB SUMMARYThe Physical Therapist at North Mississippi Health Services is integral to the Rehabilitation Services department. This role involves evaluating patients and creating treatment plans, ensuring competence in various therapeutic areas. The Physical Therapist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, adheres to regulations, and maintains patient satisfaction through effective clinical decision-making and equipment management.JOB FUNCTIONSSupervisory.* Delegates authority to PTAs and technicians.* Provides supervisory visits according to state regulations.Budget:* Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies.* Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment equipment.Clinical:* Maintains productivity level at department target.* Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Physical Therapy.Demonstrates Skills in the following areas:Evaluation.Therapeutic Exercise/Activity.Gait training.Cognitive skills.Wheelchair transfers.Modalities as appropriate for PT.Attends and provides continuing education inservices.Serves as mentor for new employees.Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician.Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner.Other:Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes. Regulation:Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes.QUALIFICATIONSEducation* Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy. Required* Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. PreferredLicenses and Certifications* CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary ResuscitationWork ExperienceKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate competency in assessment and treatment of the following areas where applicable: * Neonates/Infants * Pediatrics * Adolescents * Adults * GeriatricsParticipate in Clinical Ladder program as applicableMust plan, organize, and implement patient treatmentMust coordinate patient treatment schedule with other PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, SLPs, and rehab techniciansMust participate in PI projects, committees, and teams and report as appropriateEstablish and revise new and existing treatment protocols, policies and proceduresInteract with team members, physicians, nursing personnel, social workers, payers, and other medical staff in person, by phone, and/or written communicationExtensive contact with patients and visitors both in person and by phonePhysical DemandsA thorough completion of this section is needed for compliance with legal standards such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.
