Senior Civil Engineer (PE)Louisville, KY | Full-Time | OnsiteCompensation and TravelTarget base salary: $120,000-$150,000Onsite in Louisville five days per week, with occasional flexibility as neededLocal travel to project sites across Central KentuckyDay trips only, with rare overnight travelCompany vehicle providedWe are conducting a confidential search for a Senior Civil Engineer (PE) to join a growing Louisville office. This is a leadership-focused, player-coach role for someone who can lead civil engineering projects from concept through construction, mentor junior staff, review and stamp work, and help support the continued growth of the office.This is more than a design role. The right person will take ownership of projects, manage client relationships, support business development efforts, and step into technical work when needed.What You’ll DoLead planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects from concept through constructionOversee grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, roadway, and site development plansCoordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal teamsManage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectationsReview engineering calculations, technical reports, and permitting documentationEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal requirementsReview and stamp plans as neededMentor junior engineers and support team developmentParticipate in client meetings, proposals, and business development effortsHelp identify opportunities to expand services and support office growthWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldPE license strongly preferredCandidates who have passed the PE exam and are awaiting licensure may also be consideredCandidates planning to sit for the PE exam soon may be considered as well7+ years of relevant civil engineering experienceStrong background in site development, ideally in commercial or private-sector projectsProven experience managing projects and client relationshipsStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to mentor others and work effectively in a team-oriented environmentTechnical BackgroundAutoCAD Civil 3D is highly preferredCandidates with experience in similar platforms such as MicroStation may be considered if they can ramp up quicklyStrong understanding of codes, standards, and permitting processesExperience in several of the following areas is preferred: grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, roadway design, and site development
