Senior Systems Integration Engineer Washington, DC Area (Preferred) | Full-Time | TS Clearance Required (SCI Eligible) Blackrock Strategy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support the integration, evaluation, and operational alignment of AI-enabled and emerging mission technologies across defense and national security programs. You will work directly with government stakeholders, engineering teams, operational partners, and research organizations to help ensure advanced technologies are not only developed but also successfully integrated into operational use. This role is designed for engineers who enjoy solving complex integration challenges, working across multidisciplinary environments, and helping bridge the gap between technical development and mission execution.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AI-enabled capabilities successfully transition into operational mission environments Technical direction remains aligned across engineering, government, and mission stakeholders Integration challenges and technical risks are identified early and addressed proactively Requirements, interfaces, and system behaviors remain clear, traceable, and executable System architectures support scalability across mission and system-of-systems environments Cross-functional collaboration accelerates execution and reduces operational friction Emerging technologies integrate effectively into operational mission workflows KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support architecture, integration, and systems engineering efforts for AI-enabled mission systems Coordinate across government, engineering, operational, and research stakeholders Support development and management of system requirements, interfaces, and integration strategies Contribute to MBSE and digital engineering activities supporting system architecture and traceability Develop and maintain system models, architecture views, interface definitions, and technical documentation Support integration and assessment of hardware/software mission systems and operational workflows Identify technical risks, integration gaps, and operational dependencies across interconnected systems Participate in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, verification, validation, and operational integration activities Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for leadership and stakeholders Assist with system-of-systems integration and mission alignment efforts Support evaluation and operational transition of emerging technologies, autonomy platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, mission systems integration, architecture, digital engineering, operational engineering, or related technical coordination roles Experience supporting defense, Intelligence Community, aerospace, or advanced research and development environments Knowledge of AI-enabled systems, advanced analytics, autonomous platforms, and emerging technologies Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools such as SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw, or comparable platforms Understanding of distributed systems, API-driven architectures, cloud-enabled environments, and modern software integration approaches Experience with requirements management, interface coordination, system modeling, and integration activities Strong analytical, critical thinking, and technical problem-solving capabilities Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and organizational boundaries Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required U.S. Citizenship required Ideal candidates will typically come from systems engineering, MBSE, digital engineering, mission integration, technical advisory, or operational mission-support environments.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience supporting advanced research and engineering initiatives Familiarity with operational mission systems, autonomy platforms, ISR systems, or mission-focused defense technologies Experience supporting system-of-systems integration efforts Experience with digital engineering or MBSE environments Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or similar platforms Prior support to government, SETA, or mission-focused engineering organizations Familiarity with cloud-native engineering, DevSecOps, or containerized deployment environments Experience preparing executive-level technical briefings or mission-focused system assessments WORK ENVIRONMENT Supports government, SETA, and mission-focused engineering environments Within commuting distance to Washington, DC (preferred) Hybrid or limited remote support may be considered for highly qualified candidates Frequent interaction with government leadership, engineering teams, operational partners, and mission stakeholders Fast-paced environment supporting operationally focused technology initiatives Occasional travel may be required depending on mission needs BENEFITS 401(k) matching Health, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) options Flexible scheduling opportunities based on mission requirements Paid time off and parental leave Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Referral program EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Blackrock Strategy, Inc. is a federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination.
