Electrical Engineer Brooklyn Center, MN | Direct-Hire | $120,000-$140,000 + Bonus | Hybrid Konik is partnering with a growing technology and infrastructure manufacturer seeking to add an Active Cabinet Power Engineer to their engineering team. This role will focus on the design and development of telecom and critical power systems supporting next-generation communications and infrastructure applications. This is a highly technical engineering role ideal for someone with strong experience in telecom power systems, -48VDC architecture, and electrical infrastructure design who enjoys developing customized solutions and collaborating across engineering and product teams. ResponsibilitiesDesign and engineer active cabinet power systems, including rectifiers, UPS systems, battery strings, grounding systems, and distribution equipmentDevelop electrical infrastructure designs from utility service entry through distribution and backup power systemsCreate one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, load calculations, layout drawings, and BOMs using AutoCAD or similar toolsSpecify and evaluate rectifiers, batteries, breakers, surge protection, and related power equipmentEnsure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, Telcordia, UL, CE, CSA, and customer requirementsSupport product integration, manufacturability reviews, commissioning, and field troubleshooting effortsCollaborate with engineering, product management, and applications teams to develop new solutions and product enhancementsMaintain technical documentation, design libraries, and as-built drawing packages QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent telecom/power systems experience5+ years of experience designing telecom power systems or electrical infrastructure solutionsStrong knowledge of -48VDC rectifier systems, AC power distribution, UPS systems, and grounding strategiesExperience with telecom power equipment manufacturers such as ABB, Eaton, Delta, Eltek, or similarProficiency with AutoCAD or similar electrical drafting softwareUnderstanding of NEC, IEEE, Telcordia, and electrical safety standardsStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to travel up to 25% Preferred QualificationsPE license or EIT certificationExperience supporting 5G, DAS, edge computing, or telecom infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with remote monitoring systems, SNMP integration, or BMS platformsExperience with utility coordination, generator backup systems, or permitting processes Compensation & BenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company contributionPTO and paid holidaysCareer growth and technical development opportunities Be the first to learn about future positions by joining our Newsletter and following us on LinkedIn!
