APIM Engineer

The Senior APIM Engineer / Lead is responsible for designing, building, and scaling enterprise API platforms while providing technical leadership. This role ensures APIs are secure, high-performing, and aligned with business and integration strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and manage API platforms (Azure APIM, Apigee, Mulesoft, Kong, AWS API Gateway)Define API standards, governance, and lifecycle managementImplement API security (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS) and ensure complianceBuild CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using IaC toolsMonitor, optimize, and troubleshoot API performance and integrationsLead API initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with architecture teamsRequired Qualifications7+ years in software/integration, including 3+ years in API managementStrong REST/API design and API gateway experienceKnowledge of security protocols (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Proficiency in at least one language (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript)Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC, and networking conceptsPreferredExperience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.)Cloud certifications and exposure to regulated environments
