Water Truck Driver
Job Title: Water Truck Driver (CDL Required)
Position Summary:
The Water Truck Driver is responsible for operating a water truck to support heavy civil construction activities by controlling dust on haul roads, maintaining proper moisture content for earthwork operations, and supporting overall site safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a water truck in a safe and efficient manner on active construction sites
Apply water to haul roads, work areas, and stockpiles to control dust and maintain visibility
Maintain proper moisture levels to support compaction and grading operations
Coordinate with supervisors, equipment operators, and grade crews to ensure optimal site conditions
Perform daily equipment inspections (DOT pre/post-trip) and basic preventative maintenance
Monitor water levels and refill as needed to maintain continuous operations
Follow all company safety policies and comply with OSHA and project-specific requirements
Maintain clean and organized equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly
Keep accurate logs of water usage, routes, and equipment hours (if required)
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A or B (with tanker endorsement preferred)
Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating water trucks or similar heavy equipment
Experience working on heavy civil or earthwork construction projects preferred
Strong understanding of job site safety and traffic control practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions
Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
Work Conditions:
Work performed outdoors on active construction sites
Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment traffic
Must be able to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as required (e.g., 6 days per week, 10–12 hours per day)
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
