Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

Responsibilities of an EMT:
EMT Basic will transport patients safely and comfortably with a pleasant and caring disposition
EMT Basic will provide basic life support to the patient before they are transported to the hospital
EMT Basic will determine the right course of action after evaluating the patient’s condition
EMT Basic will observe and record the patient’s condition or injury, the treatment provided and reactions to drugs or treatment
EMT Basic will provide medical aid such as AED, CPR, prevent spinal damage, ventilation, control severe bleeding, prevent shock, bandaging wounds, etc., to stabilize their condition
EMT Basic will clean the equipment and check and replace the used and damaged supplies
EMT Basic will prepare a patient care report and take notes of the medical treatment given to them
EMT Basic will sterilize the ambulance interior
EMT Basic will restock all supplies
EMT Basic will attend refresher trainings and continuing education programs as required by medical control, certifying or licensing agencies
Requirements of an EMT:
Valid EMT License Issued by Texas Department of State Health Services
Active CPR Card
Valid Driver License

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
