DescriptionDunbarton Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team who is responsible for designing, developing, and improving manufacturing systems and processes, including equipment selection, procurement, and integration to meet current and future production needs. This role leads cross-functional collaboration and project management efforts to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery, while resolving engineering issues and guiding both direct and indirect team members.Essential Job FunctionsOversees and leads the Engineering Department, coordinating and integrating all activities toward the achievement of established goals and objectives including developing and implementing department policies and proceduresIntroduces, designs, modifies, implements and enforces all safety procedures and policies within the manufacturing and operations areasIdentify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to improve processes and products and reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, LEAN methods, product design, industrial engineering skills, materials and toolingInvestigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actionsDetermine root causes of failures using statistical methods recommending changes in designs, tolerances and processing methods and improving OEEProvide technical expertise and support to all manufacturing, maintenance and tooling departments, including WRC, Service Centers and the Camden PlantMaintain equipment, product and part drawings and ensure proper design tolerances are implemented and maintained to meet customer and quality requirementsWrite, modify, maintain and install machine operating programs and related code and software for production equipment, support equipment and related needsManage the design, procurement, modification, installation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, including direct coordination with vendors for equipment design, maintenance, relocation, and repair servicesTrains plant personnel in operation and maintenance of equipment, die preparation and maintenance, and new or existing production methodsProvide industrial engineering support in the form of time studies, functionality testing, efficiency improvement, and other related activitiesReads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and other technical drawingsDevelops the structural design of parts, tools and products using drafting tools, CAD, CAM, SolidWorks, and other similar software and resourcesConducts research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systemsUse the ERP system in an effective and efficient manner to enter and manage purchase orders, bills-of-material, and similar items including training others to use the ERP systemEffectively utilize spreadsheets to manage engineering and production issues not captured by the ERPAdheres to work schedule and attendance requirements, including nights and weekendsPerforms other work as directed and requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and servicesKnowledge of business, management, and leadership principles as applied in the manufacturing industryKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceSkill in the use of computer hardware and software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programsSkill in the use of various manual and power tools and equipment used in steel fabricationSkill in identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate partsSkill in providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained or usedAbility to think creatively and use alternate thinking to develop new ideas for and answer work-related problemsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships larger organization or team goals rather than individual concernsRequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering or a related fieldFive (5) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or similar locationFive (5) or more years of experience in equipment or process design and project managementExperience in supervision or management of employeesLEAN, 6S, Kaizen, and/or
