We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.What You'll Do At BCCSResponsible for reviewing and approving intakes/assessment and ensuring that clients are placed in the correct level of care.Conduct and promote staff orientation, training, and development. Direct, supervise, and evaluate staff. Ensure that counselors follow agency policies and procedures.Meet with assigned clients to formulate and execute clinical goals.Assign clients to counselors / case managers.Provide regular and specially requested reportsProvide outreach and educational activities in the community.Resolve counselor / client conflicts. Promote staff morale and conduct supervision with staff on a weekly basis.Participates in weekly treatment team meetings.Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge of Drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices.Knowledge of population being served and available resources.Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document the progress of clients.May require crisis intervention to emergency situations.Skill in establishing rapport with clients.Knowledge of Supervision practicesAbility to work independently and as part of a focused team.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.RequirementsQualifications for the position are:REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related fieldREQUIRED: 3 years' experience in the substance abuse field and/or mental healthREQUIRED: 1 year of supervisory experience.Within 1 year, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) if not already certified.PREFERRED: CADC, CCDP, LPC, or LCSW,PREFERRED: 5 years' experience in the substance abuse field and/or mental healthScheduleMonday - Friday7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.The Compensation Package For This Position IncludesGroup medical, dental, and vision coverage with low employee costs 34 paid days off annually Tuition reimbursement A retirement plan with a company match of up to 4%!
