SUMMARY:The Crew Scheduling Supervisor is directly responsible to the SOC Manager. The ultimate responsibility for this position is the daily supervision and support of the Crew Scheduling department.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:In absence of the SOC Manager, acts in his/her placeSupervises the Crew Scheduling operation by providing direction and support as neededCoordinates with Flight Followers, Dispatchers, and Crew Scheduling during irregular operations to ensure effective operational performanceOversees the completion of the daily company flight scheduleExercises delegated authority for the daily leadership of the Crew Scheduling department, including the supervision of personnel assigned to him/her and the scheduling of Crew Scheduling personnelExercises delegated authority for the crew planning process and the daily scheduling of crewmembersAssists SOC Manager with performance reviews for Crew SchedulersAssists the SOC Manager with the payroll function for dispatchers, flight followers and crew schedulersWorks with SOC Manager to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes in the operationParticipates in the development of an annual budget for Crew SchedulingKeeps the Customer Care Department informed of pertinent information during irregular operationsEnsures the set up of hotel accommodations and rental cars for crewmembers laying over or on TDY assignments in accordance with company rulesEnsures the set up of hotel accommodations and other necessary provisions for Crew Scheduling personnel, in coordination with the SOC Supervisors, who are working during times of extreme weatherComplete Supervisor turnover at the end of work weekReviews crew daily schedules to ensure legalityMonitors daily schedule of Crew Scheduling departments to ensure proper coverageIn the event of a Crew Scheduling sick call, the Supervisor will activate the reserve coverage. If there is no reserve coverage, the Supervisor will cover the shiftProvides for continued analysis of job methods and techniques to improve efficiency and economy of the operationProvides the necessary training for Crew Schedulers on FAR and company work rules for crewmembersParticipates in the manpower planning for crewmembers and the planning for the flight scheduleMonitors master schedules changes for legalities to ensure FAR complianceProvides input for sufficient reserve crewmember coverage for unplanned absencesMaintains a caring and open dialog with all crewmembers and staffPerforms tasks assigned by the On-Call Duty ManagerPerforms duties required in the Emergency Response Manual as neededManages irregular operations by determining the best utilization of available crew and aircraft resourcesCoordinates with Crew Scheduling to resolve crew issues (e.g. sick and fatigue calls, duty time issues, etc.)Coordinates with MOC to resolve aircraft missions (e.g. paint, regional repos, etc.)Uses company procedures in accordance with regulatory and company restrictions to determine if a pilot's schedule can be changedContacts pilots in the event their schedule is changedContacts Duty Manager for required eventsKeeps Flight Followers informed of irregular operations and recoveries as events unfold, as opposed to a briefing after the factAdditional duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:FAA Aircraft Dispatch Certificate preferredKnowledge of 117, 121, and 135 regulations including, but not limited to, duty time restrictionsPrevious 121/125/135 industry management appropriate to the tasks of this positionExcellent organizational skills, requiredExcellent internal/external customer service skills, requiredMust be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in any situationMust be willing to work any/all shifts required
