Lowboy Driver
The lowboy driver is responsible for the safe and proper operation and maintenance of the truck and trailer. We required that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by foreman.We are currently seeking an experienced Lowboy Driver to join our team.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, a clean driving record, and hands-on experience transporting construction equipment, including proper loading, securing, and tie-down procedures. Flexibility is important, as this role may require early morning starts, occasional late nights, and weekend work.Candidates must be able to pass FMCSA guidelines and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.If you take pride in your work and have experience hauling heavy equipment, we encourage you to apply.Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Proper loading and tie down technique Knowledge of truck, trailer and equipment. Ability to communicate effectively and achieve set goals Deep understanding of DOT compliance and roadside inspectionsJob ResponsibilitiesNote: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. Major duties include the following: Be on time. (start times will be on the schedule) Complete pre and post trips daily – report any maintenance issues Answer company phone to receive dispatch and instructions Assure the truck assigned to daily stays clean, inside and out, including trailers Maintain all equipment, tools and jump boxes, etc. assigned to each truck. Ensure PPE is worn properly when executing job duties and in all required areas.SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL Abide by all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook. Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental Rules and Regulations.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Field operation – Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat. Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe essential functions of this position includes sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.Character Requirements Self-motivated Ability to work well with subordinates, peers and supervisors AmbitiousATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized.
