This position offers anexcellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning communitywherein faculty contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learnersin an innovative, nontraditional university setting.Our Opportunity:The mission of the on ground, part-time adjunct Nursing Instructor, regardless of thecurriculum, is to provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledgenecessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program ofstudy. To accomplish this mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, andabilities in a coordinated and consistent team effort under the guidance and supervisionof the Director of Education/ Dean/ Program Chair, or his or her designee.Successful candidates in this role will reside in the Anamosa, IA area or within acommutable distance.What to expect in this role:Provide an engaging learning environment by hands-on activities and with open and timely communicationProvide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellencePartner with advisors and leadership on student concerns, resolution, retention, and outcomes.Remain current with trends, techniques, and technology.Maintenance of a professional development plan.Additional duties as may be assigned by the School.Experience:BSN required; MSN preferredActive, unencumbered state RN licensure with 2 years of clinical experienceMedical-surgical experience requiredHigher education teaching experience is preferred.What we're looking for:Exceptional computer skills.Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style and method to suit different audiences.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Ability to work in a multicultural environment, across diverse teams, departments, and Schools.Additional Information:Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3300 per full 10-week course.
