Software V&V Engineer (Embedded) – NOT a QA role Location: Rockford, Illinois (Onsite Only) Experience: 6+ years relevant experience Pay Rate: $60/hr Visa/Work Status: US Citizens only (ITAR requirement) Number of Positions: 5Job Summary:We are seeking experienced Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineers for safety-critical embedded avionics systems. This role is focused on verification activities in compliance with DO-178B/C standards, including structural coverage analysis (SCA), test development, and tool-based verification.Key Responsibilities:Perform software verification and validation activities (NOT QA)Develop and execute test cases at unit, integration (SSIT/HSIT), and system levelsPerform Structural Coverage Analysis (SCA) as per DO-178B/C guidelinesBuild instrumentation and coverage analysis setupWork with RTRT tool for SCA execution and reportingAnalyze test results, identify defects, and perform root cause analysisEnsure compliance with safety-critical avionics software standardsSupport configuration and change management activitiesRequired Skills:Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies:Black-box, White-box, Boundary Value AnalysisStrong experience with DO-178B/C standardsHands-on experience in:SCA (Structural Coverage Analysis)RTRT tool usageBuild instrumentation and coverage setupProgramming experience in C / Ada (preferred avionics languages)Experience in verification testing (unit, integration, system level)Experience with requirements tools like DOORSExposure to configuration management tools (Synergy CM/Change, Polarion, SVN)Preferred Experience:Working in safety-critical / regulated aerospace environmentsStrong analytical and debugging skillsGood documentation and communication skills
