Senior DevSecOps

OverviewWe are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the modernization of Data Systems with a primary focus on DevSecOps in Azure Cloud. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure within sensitive and classified environments to ensure delivery of mission-critical data analysis and machine learning applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps and other modern DevSecOps tooling, DoD compute environments and security compliance and modern infrastructure automation practices.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Cloud Management:Design, deploy, and manage Azure Cloud architecture within DoD guidelinesManage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deploymentsEnsure compliance with DoD security requirements and best practicesLead cross-functional teams in defining secure infrastructure requirementsCI/CD Pipeline DevelopmentDevelop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelinesImplement deployment strategies aligned with DoD security protocolsAutomate build, test, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps PipelinesEnsure code security through pipeline integrationSecurity & ComplianceImplement and maintain security controls per DoD requirementsConduct security assessments and vulnerability remediationCollaborate with security teams on RMF documentationEnsure continuous compliance with DoD security standardsSystem ReliabilityMonitor system performance and securityImplement logging and monitoring solutions Lead incident response and problem resolutionEnsure resilience and high availability for mission-critical systemsRequired QualificationsEligible for Secret clearanceCurrent Security+ certification (or must obtain within 30 days)One of the following:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of DevOps experience8+ years of relevant DevOps/Cloud engineering experienceExperience with Azure DevOps implementing DevSecOps pipelines in commercial and classified environments.Experience with the container ecosystem - Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, etc.Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automationExperience with Azure Commercial Cloud and Azure Government CloudStrong scripting skills in Python or other languagesPreferred QualificationsExperience implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Strong understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)Knowledge of DoD security documentation requirementsExperience with security scanning tools (Nessus, SonarQube, Aqua Security, or similar) and remediationDatabase administration (SQL, NoSQL, Vector, etc.)Elasticsearch/OpenSearch administrationVersion controlLinux administrationExperience in data engineering tools and technologies like Databricks, Spark, Hadoop, and data warehousing solutionsFamiliarity with machine learning concepts and toolsExperience with data visualization tools like Power BI or TableauRelevant cloud security certifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate)BenefitsExpression offers competitive salaries and benefits, such as:401k matchingPPO and HDHP medical/dental/vision insuranceEducation reimbursementComplimentary life insuranceGenerous PTO and holiday leaveOnsite office gym accessCommuter Benefits PlanAbout ExpressionFounded in 1997 and headquartered in Washington DC, Expression provides data fusion, data analytics, software engineering, information technology, and electromagnetic spectrum management solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of State, and national security community.
