Blu Omega is seeking a System Engineer to support a federal program focused on cloud and infrastructure modernization. This role operates within an onsite environment and is responsible for supporting enterprise systems, cloud integration, and infrastructure operations. The position requires experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms within a mission-driven environment.
Program Overview
The ECIS (Enterprise Cloud & Integration Services) program is CBP’s task order vehicle for acquiring commercial cloud services, including Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. It supports development, containerization, API frameworks, data tagging, tracking, and high-availability operations, facilitating CBP’s transition to a hybrid cloud environment leveraging AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM, and Oracle. The program aims to modernize systems, migrate legacy applications, and support hybrid-cloud infrastructure management.

Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and enterprise applications
Configure, support, and optimize Windows and Linux operating environments
Manage virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere, including ESXi hosts and vCenter
Oversee network services including DNS, DHCP, and IP address management
Perform hardware installation, troubleshooting, and component replacement
Implement backup, disaster recovery, and system continuity plans
Ensure systems adhere to security, compliance, and organizational standards
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and conduct root-cause analysis
Support onboarding of new hardware, virtual machines, and applications
Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurations
Collaborate with teams to support new technologies and proof-of-concept efforts
Required Qualifications
5-8+ years of systems administration or related infrastructure experience
Scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash
Knowledge of NFS storage, distributed switches, and virtual networking
Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter management
Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux (RHEL or similar)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including VLANs, subnets, and IP addressing
Experience managing DNS, DHCP, and related network services
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools
Industry certifications like VMware VCP, CompTIA Linux+, or Microsoft certifications
Python scripting experience
Compensation
Salary Range: 150,000.00 - 180,000
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
