Private Duty Nurse

About the RoleA family in Ann Arbor is seeking a compassionate, experienced nurse to provide private duty care for a loved one with an advanced oncology diagnosis. We are building a small team of nurses to provide rotating 12-hour shifts so that our family member receives consistent, attentive care from a stable group of professionals who come to know him/her well.RN preferred; we are open to highly experienced LPNs.This is a meaningful role for the right person — one patient, one home, and the time and space to deliver nursing care the way you would want it delivered to your own family.What You'll DoProvide skilled nursing care during 12-hour day or night shifts in the patient's homeManage symptoms and medications with attention to detailAssist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) as neededMonitor and document clinical status, communicating clearly with the family and care teamSupport the patient and family with the calm, steady presence this stage of care requiresCoordinate as needed with the patient's physicians and broader care teamWhat We're Looking ForActive Michigan RN or LPN license in good standingRN preferred; highly experienced LPNs welcomeOncology experience preferredComfort and competence with pain management, symptom control, port care, and medication administrationCompassion, discretion, and the kind of quiet professionalism that puts a family at easeReliability — this family is counting on the team that's builtAbility to commit to a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per weekAbility to pass a background check and provide professional referencesWhat We OfferW-2 employment with the family, administered through a professional household payroll service (taxes, workers' compensation, and payroll handled professionally)Competitive hourly payA single-patient assignment in a calm home environmentA small, collegial care teamThe opportunity to make a real difference for one family during an important timeTo ApplyPlease reply with a brief note about your background, your relevant experience, and your general availability.
