Quantum Computing / Cryptography Engineer

_SageTech Solutions, LLC_ a Maryland based SDVOSB Technology firm is seeking a highly qualified *Quantum Computing / Cryptography Engineer (K) with advance knowledge* developing advanced quantum algorithms, secure cryptographic protocols, and next‑generation security architectures designed to withstand emerging quantum threats. This role blends deep theoretical knowledge with practical engineering, enabling organizations to innovate securely in a post‑quantum world. QCCE will work with a team of Enterprise Security Data and Solutions Architects to successfully design, implement and monitor an Federal Government Enterprise-Wide Assets supporting Cybersecurity Support Services. Veterans Affairs experience a plus. *Core Responsibilities* * *Quantum Algorithm Design* — Develop, test, and optimize quantum algorithms for computation, simulation, and cryptographic analysis. * *Post‑Quantum Cryptography* — Implement and evaluate quantum‑resistant cryptographic schemes aligned with NIST PQC standards. * *Quantum Hardware Integration* — Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure algorithms and protocols operate efficiently on quantum processors. * *Security Architecture* — Design secure communication frameworks leveraging quantum key distribution (QKD) and hybrid cryptographic models. * *Research & Innovation* — Publish findings, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to long‑term quantum security strategy. * *Performance Benchmarking* — Analyze algorithmic performance across classical and quantum systems. * *Cross‑Functional Collaboration* — Work with engineering, cybersecurity, and data science teams to integrate quantum‑safe solutions. *Required Qualifications* ü *Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation* * *Master’s or PhD* in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, Cryptography, or related field. * Strong foundation in *quantum mechanics*, *linear algebra*, and *complex systems*. * Proficiency with *Qiskit*, *Cirq*, or other quantum development frameworks. * Experience with classical cryptography (RSA, ECC, AES) and modern PQC algorithms. * Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical engineering solutions. *Preferred Skills* * Experience with *quantum error correction* and fault‑tolerant architecture. * Familiarity with *quantum networking*, QKD systems, or entanglement‑based communication. * Knowledge of *high‑performance computing*, GPU acceleration, or distributed systems. * Strong publication record in quantum computing or cryptography research. *Key Competencies* * *Analytical Rigor* — Ability to solve complex mathematical and computational problems. * *Innovation Mindset* — Comfortable working in emerging, rapidly evolving technology spaces. * *Security‑First Thinking* — Deep understanding of threat modeling and secure protocol design. * *Technical Communication* — Skilled at presenting complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences. *Forward Resumes to*: Time@graymatterstech.com Gray Matters Technology Services, Mentor to SageTech Solutions, LLC.
