Job Type Full-time Description Field Laborer / Technician - Environmental Services Location: Edinburg, PA On-Call / Travel / Emergency Response Role: Miller Environmental Group (MEG) is seeking Field Laborers / Technicians to join our field operations team. This position performs hands-on environmental cleanup, industrial cleaning, decontamination, spill response, and basic remediation tasks under direct supervision. This role supports both emergency response and scheduled project work. The work is physical and demanding, often performed in challenging environments, and requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and accountability. Why Work for Miller Environmental Group? Serve in a first-responder-like role, rapidly mobilizing to environmental emergencies and doing meaningful work that truly makes a difference-protecting people, critical infrastructure, and the environment when it matters most Compensation:Starting pay: $20/hour+, depending on experienceOvertime pay after 8 hours in a day1.5x pay for Saturday work2x pay for Sunday workSignificant overtime opportunities are common due to emergency response and project demands Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning the first day of the month following hire401(k) with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 4%15 paid days off annually (which increases each year of service) plus 10 paid holidaysCompany-paid life insurance Growth & Career Development:Company-paid training, certifications, and required safety qualificationsHands-on experience in environmental response, remediation, and industrial servicesClear advancement opportunities into Technician, Driver (CDL), and Leadership rolesLong-term career growth with a company that promotes from within and invests in its people Key Responsibilities:Perform environmental cleanup, industrial cleaning, and decontamination work under supervisionAssist with spill response, emergency deployments, and basic remediation tasksHandle, package, and transport contaminated materials in compliance with regulationsWear, maintain, and properly use required PPE, including respirators and fully encapsulated Level A suitsPerform strenuous physical labor including digging, lifting, shoveling, debris removal, and hose handlingAssist with containment setup and site preparationSupport vacuum truck operations (hose handling, spotting, equipment setup), without driving CDL vehiclesLoad and unload tools, materials, and equipment (non-CDL)Clean tools, equipment, and work areas using appropriate cleaning methodsMaintain basic site records such as container or material countsParticipate in daily safety briefings and required trainingReport safety hazards, equipment issues, or unusual site conditionsWork extended shifts (8-12+ hours), including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outsParticipate in on-call emergency responsePerform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderValid, unrestricted driver's license (non-CDL)Reliable transportationAbility to lift 40-50 lbs and perform heavy physical laborAbility to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, and varying weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spaces, at heights, and on uneven terrainWillingness to work extended hours, overtime, travel, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotationsAbility to wear respirators and meet OSHA respiratory protection and facial hair requirementsStrong reliability, teamwork, and willingness to learnMust pass a fit-for-duty physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background check Preferred Qualifications:Experience in environmental services, construction, industrial cleaning, mechanical, landscaping or general laborSpill response, remediation, or hazardous materials experienceMechanical aptitude or equipment support experience Work Environment & Physical Demands:Field-based work primarily outdoors for 8-12+ hours per dayExposure to noise, chemicals, uneven terrain, confined spaces, and elevated work areasRequired use of PPE including coveralls, gloves, eye protection, respirators, air monitors, and fully encapsulated suitsAbility to wear fully encapsulated Level A PPE with SCBA for extended periods when requiredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
