Our Noise & Vibration team contributes to hardware design, validation, and troubleshooting to minimize distracting audible noises and optimize their sound quality. We are a diverse team of acoustics and vibration experts, accomplished listeners, and creative problem solvers. We work daily with multifunctional teams on innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. We are looking for an N&V Testing Engineer to join our team. Description An N&V testing engineer on the Noise & Vibration team will test and analyze acoustic noise generating mechanisms and transmission path, to provide innovative and cost effective solutions to noise reduction. A large part of this role involves working with cross-functional teams, designing test setups, collecting critical data for failure analyses, and providing insight of the results with expert knowledge. You will also work closely with simulation engineers, providing expert analysis on simulation-test correlation and proposing improvements to modeling methodologies. Responsibilities Lead the end to end of structural vibration testing process, from developing methodologies to configuring physical setups. Work closely with simulation engineers to provide expert analysis on test-simulation correlation, driving improvements in modeling methodologies. Partner with cross-functional teams to design and execute vibration tests dedicated to the root cause analysis of critical noise issues. Perform in-depth acoustic and vibration data analysis to deliver expert guidance on project next steps, DOEs, and mitigation plans. Minimum Qualifications Strong background in structural dynamics, with minimum 2+ years of experience in the noise and vibration field. Extensive hands-on experience in structural vibration testing design and execution. Strong ability to interpret complex testing results to draw meaningful conclusions. Experience in product noise & vibration root cause identification. Experience in Matlab or other programming tools for analysis and post-processing. Some experience in experimental modal analysis, transfer path analysis and sub-structure synthesis. A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment. Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $116,400 and $203,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
