Job DescriptionThe Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures reliable operation, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The technician works both independently and as part of a service team to deliver high-quality service and timely solutions.ResponsibilitiesPerform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systemsSupport and collaborate with other technicians and team members in the fieldEnsure job quality, safety compliance, and workmanship standards are metCommunicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and repair optionsIdentify repair and preventative maintenance opportunitiesCoordinate with dispatch, service management, and parts teams for efficient service deliveryVerify that all work meets manufacturer, code, and company standardsComplete detailed service documentation and job reportingParticipate in rotations and emergency response as requiredEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredHVAC technical school or equivalent training preferredEPA Section 608 certification requiredValid Montana driver’s license and insurable driving record2–5 years of commercial HVAC service experience preferredExperience with rooftop units, boilers, chillers, controls, and building automation systemsSkills & AbilitiesProficient troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamClear communication skills for customer interactionsGood decision-making and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with HVAC controls, electrical systems, and refrigeration circuitsStrong organizational and time-management skillsProfessionalism and customer service focusAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPhysically able to perform field service work including lifting, climbing, and rooftop access#hc217932
