Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg (PM Shift)Schedule:PM Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 5 days/weekRotating weekends every other or third weekend Position Overview:We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg to provide high-quality patient care on the medical-surgical and orthopedic units. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while promoting a safe, healing, and patient-centered environment. This role requires collaboration, critical thinking, and adherence to professional nursing standards.Key Responsibilities:Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to assigned patients, including post-operative orthopedic patients, medical-surgical cases, and specialty procedures (e.g., spine, plastics, podiatry).Serve as the primary nurse or accountable nurse as assigned, managing a group of patients and coordinating care.ssess patients, develop care plans, delegate tasks appropriately, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes.Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease management, and post-discharge care.Safely administer medications and utilize knowledge of pharmacology in accordance with policies.Participate in resource management, including staffing, supplies, and time management, to ensure efficient patient care.Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.Support and actively participate in shared governance, unit councils, and quality improvement initiatives.Mentor and provide guidance to new employees and students in a supportive learning environment.Engage in professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training requirements.Integrate current nursing research and best practices into patient care.Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with organizational needs. Required Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.Current New York State RN license.BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or client).6 months to 3 years of nursing experience in clinical care. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.Relevant specialty certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the unit.
