Software Engineer, OpenShell

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer Openshell to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Telecommunications & Hardware environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $184,000 – $287,500 annuallyResponsibilities Track the evolution of agentic systems and relevant research areas Identify and translate research ideas into product opportunities for OpenShell Reproduce and benchmark promising methods from multiple sources Create rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations using OpenShell Design evaluation frameworks to test agent reliability and security Develop secure workflows for agents interacting with enterprise tools Collaborate with cross-functional teams to progress from prototype to productQualifications 8+ years of experience in research engineering, software development, or a related field MS/PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent experience Strong ability to transform research into tangible products and systems Deep proficiency in areas like LLMs, multimodal models, and agent safety Proven track record of independent technical investigation and effective communication of results Strong product sense with focus on user experience for developers and agents Commitment to translating research into real-world impact and enterprise capabilities Excellent collaboration skills across various teamsBenefits Eligible for equity in the company Comprehensive benefits package Flexible work arrangements Ongoing professional development opportunities Collaborative and innovative team environmentOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
