Position Summary: The assistant director/enrollment coordinator is part of the Leadership team that collaborates together to bring their early childhood professional experience and organizational skills to support the mission of the childcare center. The position includes assisting with program planning, health and safety planning, staff hiring/training and supervision. Responsible for the entire process of enrollment of new families from giving the family a tour to ensuring the child’s file has all of the required documents to satisfy licensing requirements. REPORTS TO: Child Care Director SUPERVISES: All staff and operations when Director is absent SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, some evenings and special events, Full Time, Nonexempt LOCATION: Shoreline, WA Duties include overseeing staff functioning within roles related to: Teaching, Daycare, Childcare, Toddlers, Preschool, Infants, Nanny, Kindergarten, Cooking, Chef, Christian Education. Our new Assistant Childcare Director will receive the following pay and benefits: $500 hiring bonus after 6 months of continuous employment $24.00 - $28.00 per hour, DOE, Non-Exempt Health insurance for : Medical $80/month, Dental $11/month, and Vision $1/month. Separate rates for spouses/dependents. Retirement plan with up to a 3% matching employer contribution. 12 days of vacation (increases with time) 13 days of paid holidays Generous sick-leave Employee Assistance Program Childcare Tuition Assistance Job Duties: Assist with overall administration, planning and enrollment processes for the program Assist in Planning and implementing curricula, activities and programs to ensure that intended objectives and state standards are met and also foster community and family involvement while maintaining good communication with parents. Help implement developmentally appropriate practices in Early Childhood Education that teach respect for cultural diversity and a love for Jesus Create Brightwheel accounts, create billing accounts and payment schedule for new families. Assist with overall administration, curriculum development and implementation for the program Help lead informational discussions with staff regarding implementation of the developmental curricula for individual classrooms Assist in interviewing and hiring new staff as needed Assist appropriate orientation and ongoing in-service staff training on program policies. Assist with regular staff meetings Assist in developing and maintaining staff work schedules Collaborate closely with director to observe, evaluate, train, and review staff performance In absence of the center director, asst. director will assume all day-to-day responsibilities of center operation Perform other duties as assigned Requirements BA degree in ECE or related field. AA degree will be considered with additional experience Knowledge of child development as evidenced by professional reference, education, experience, and on-the-job performance Minimum 4 years qualifying professional experience working with young children, preferably in child care Demonstrated leadership and team building skills Proven management and supervisory skills Ability to relate to and work effectively with culturally diverse children and families Strong oral and written communication skills Good organization and problem-solving skills Valid Washington State driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance Ability to sign our Statement of Faith Requirements that must be completed before starting Registration with MERIT and attain STARS ID 30 hours STARS training Proof of negative TB test Proof of MMR Vaccine Onboarding process Food Handler's Permit Physical Demands/Work Requirements: Must be able to lift 40 pounds properly Ability to assume postures in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children Perform all activities with children occasionally Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor the environment and children's well-being Vision House is a Christian service agency Applicants will have employment eligibility verified with E-Verify.
