The job requires regular interaction with the plant staff to know what supplies are required, although the majority of the job is done in solitude and on the computer.Job ExpectationsManage all aspects of purchasing and distribution while taking into account cost-effective solutions.Communicate with the client, foster a team atmosphere, and report on progress.Assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations.Receive price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements and the budget, and purchase orders via fax or computer.Collaborate and communicate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.Manage the day-to-day business relationship with key suppliers through supporting activities including ordering, communication of demand/ volume/ delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing of end-user feedback, follow up on backorders, etc. Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and capabilities.Assist with contract development and execution Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of good and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the companyIdentifying, prioritizing and impacting key business opportunities Working with stakeholders and leadership teams to implement and enforcing polices that increase spend visibility and compliance.QualificationsMUST BE 18 YRS. OF AGE TO APPLY**Education And/or Work Experience RequirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersExcellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary serviceCollege degree (Associates / Bachelor) related fields preferred5+ years’ experienceAble to multi-task and work independently In-depth understanding of MRO Work effectively in fast paced environment Ability to work overtime when necessary including weekends and off shiftsPhysical Requirements/ ADAAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsCommunication and organizational skillsProficient with basic math conversion and units of measureMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbsMust be able to read, write, and speak fluently in EnglishMust be able to sit, stand and or walk for up to 9 hours per dayMust be able to walk on slippery wet floors in a cold environment and also hot environmentMay be exposed to smoke from smokehouse departmentMust be able to wear hearing protection of either ear plugs or ear muffsMust be able and willing to comply with all GMP’s Must be able to type visually look at computer screens for 6-8 hour per day
