This individual collaborates closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and care coordinators to support patient examinations, treatments, and overall clinic operations. With a pleasant and welcoming demeanor, the Medical Assistant ensures that every patient, guest, and visitor receives a positive first impression and a high-quality experience. Responsibilities include assisting clinical staff during patient visits, supporting nursing functions, and contributing to a smooth and efficient care environment. Flexibility is essential, as the role may occasionally require evening or weekend hours.Job Responsibilities:Clinical DutiesCollect and document vital signs and medical information in the EHRReport abnormal labs and vital signs to nurse or physicianAdminister urine drug screens, collect samples, document results, and report abnormalitiesObtain and process blood specimens as ordered by the physicianUpload prescribed medications into the EHR for nurse reviewRun Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) reports and upload to EHRPrepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record health historyAdminister injections and medications as directedPerform routine specimen collection and testingAssist physicians with medical treatments, procedures, and examsPrepare and clean examination rooms and equipmentManage inventory of medical supplies and restock exam roomsAdministrative DutiesSchedule appointments for patients, including those needing medication refillsReport adverse medication effects to nursing staffCommunicate pertinent patient care information to providers and nursing teamAnswer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriatelyComplete prior authorizations for medications and specialty servicesFollow up with providers regarding authorizations and documentationCommunicate with pharmacies to clarify medication orders and refill requestsReceive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, and check in patientsObtain and update patient records; ensure all forms and consents are completedCheck out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange lab servicesSpecialty ServicesReceive training to assist with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)Receive training to support neuropsychological testingQualifications and Education:High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferredBehavioral health experience preferred1 year experience post certification preferredActive CPR CertificationExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly mannerMust be detail-oriented and highly organizedFirm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policiesKnowledge of patient care and examination proceduresMust be able to maintain confidentiality at all timesMindful Health offers:A healthy & positive atmosphere where everyone is valued.Schedule: Part timeSalary: $23.00 - $25.00 / hour Mindful Health offers a comprehensive benefits package to support the well-being and professional development of our employees.
