Pharmacy Technician I-Inpatient

Pharmacy Technician Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team. Our Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of licensed Pharmacists to support patient care by answering calls, addressing the needs of various teams, compounding medications tailored to patients' individual needs, as well as dispensing and delivering medications to inpatient units. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is an Academic Medical Center which prides itself on supporting education and training. Pharmacy Technicians will routinely engage with the training and support of new staff, interns, students, apprentices, and other learners who rotate through the pharmacy. Inpatient Pharmacy Technicians are hired as a Registered Technician, Certified Technician I, Certified Technician II, or Certified Technician III depending on qualifications and experience and are encouraged to advance through the technician career ladder as additional skills and experience are acquired.Our collaborative, team-oriented environment provides our technicians opportunities to work on projects and to be actively involved in initiatives that affect their work. Following the training period, technicians work within one of our specialized teams:Inventory - Receiving, billing, invoice/PO management, drug shortage management, inventory optimizationCompounding - Sterile and nonsterile compounding according to USP standards, advanced training for compounding and handling of hazardous medicationsDistribution - Facilitating availability of medications in various patient care areas, management and operation of pharmacy technology, includes a variety of roles responsible for ensuring efficient and smooth operation of the central pharmacyNew to a career in Pharmacy? You may be hired as a registered pharmacy technician and independently work to obtain your certification in 9-months OR enroll in our apprenticeship program to guide you through the certification process. This includes six paid holidays.Shift Differential: 10% evening, 20% night, and 15% weekend shift differentials when applicable.Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 per year.DentalVision#CPT, #Pharmacy Technician, #Dartmouth-Hitchcock PharmacyResponsibilities Answers Phones.Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines and/or robots (example: shelves, carousels, Parata).May assist with orienting and training pharmacy department staff.Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.Assists in revising policy and procedure.Delivers meds to beds or patient care areaInpatient Only:Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.Maintains the hardware and software of the department's multiple computer systems.Outpatient Only:Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist.Take verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production.Processes third party claims.Performs other duties as required or assigned.Qualifications Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.Ability to multitask and attention to detail.Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.Required Licensure/Certifications Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required.Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations
