Pre-School/Youth Site Supervisor (Seasonal)
Pre-School/Youth Site Supervisor Schedule: May (10 hrs/week); June–August (30 hrs/week). Evening availability required. PODS up to 40 hrs/week.Looking for a flexible, part-time role where your energy, leadership, and love of working with kids really matter?What You'll DoLead and support Pre-School/Youth sports and activity programs while supervising staff, coordinating daily operations, and creating a safe, engaging environment for kids and families.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and oversee youth sports and PODS programs, including lesson plans and daily activitiesSupervise, coach, and support seasonal staff; step in as needed to keep programs running smoothlyCoordinate equipment, rosters, attendance, schedules, and weekly summariesEnsure participant safety, enforce rules, and handle day-to-day staff or parent concernsConduct staff training, meetings, evaluations, and end-of-program reportsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesProvides routine supervision for up to 20 Pre-School/Youth Leaders and staff, overseeing instruction, program delivery, and on-site operations.What You Bring – Education & ExperienceMust be at least 18 years oldOne year of college preferred (Education, Sports Management, Recreation, or related field)Two years of post-high-school experience in athletic activities or sports programs preferredPreferred CertificationsFirst Aid and CPR certification (required within two weeks of hire; provided by the City)Technical Skills & KnowledgeStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsAbility to plan programs, manage staff, and solve on-site issuesBasic computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeComfort working outdoors and in active, high-energy environmentsWhy Work for the City of Fort WayneThis is a meaningful, flexible opportunity to build leadership experience, gain hands-on program management skills, and make a direct impact in your community-perfect for college students, education majors, or those exploring careers in recreation or youth development.Equal Opportunity EmployerEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of applicable drug screening, physical examination, and background checks.
