Headquartered in Long Grove, Illinois, we have over 40 factories on three continents, including 2.1 million square feet of U.S. distribution and manufacturing space.Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for providing managerial leadership and direction to the plant facility, including manufacturing and distribution, maximizing capital and human resource utilization to attain acceptable-quality production objectives within established cost parameters. The position is also responsible for managing the plant's people, materials, and assets to produce assigned products according to the production plan and customer requirements. The plant manager drives the facility's lean manufacturing and change management initiatives and implements effective continuous improvement programs that support plant and customer requirements.Principle ResponsibilitiesProvide Effective Leadership to ensure the plant leadership team is continually aligned to accomplish the company's Operational Goals & objectivesManage production operations plant start-up and shut-down procedures, production equipment, and alarmsMeet performance metrics for production operations and shipping schedulesBalance production objectives with finished goods inventory objectivesCreate production operations that promote customer quality and delivery satisfactionIdentify and correct production variance from BOM standardAchieve financial objectives by assisting in preparing the production budget and scheduling expenditures; compiling and studying costs; initiating corrective actionsManage, report, document, and plan production performance, continuous improvement activities, action plans, strategic plans, and employee utilization.Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Communicate the plant performance and results to the team. Utilize and update visual communications on the floorMaintains staff job results by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; answering grievances; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance resultsPromote employee involvement/engagement.Consult with Human Resources regarding hiring, transfer, and discipline of employees as it relates to company policyProvide coaching and development to members of the leadership teamDevelop personnel to grow and assume greater responsibilities that fit into a succession plan for future growthEnsure thorough production process root cause analysis and complete corrective actions are completed on a timely basisSupport compliance with the Quality Management System and all other applicable regulations that may apply, including Environment Health & Safety requirements.Maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirementsWorking to continuously improve production operations concerning productivity, quality, safety, and inventory levels to meet customer demand and operating expenses while utilizing lean manufacturing techniquesImplementing capital projects and training programs to attain volume and productivity goalsEffective leadership implementing Lean Manufacturing and change managementDrive and deploy new leadership objectives and standards while providing vision and training to accomplish these objectivesEvaluate the financial implication of changes made in the operation to achieve maximum profitabilityEmpower employees and develop a continuous improvement philosophy throughout the teamIncorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operationsBe a resource of Lean informationDevelop standard operation sheets and all applicable forms/flow charts created during the eventQualificationsPreferred/Required Education/Skills: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or sufficient years of experienceTen (10) or more years in a manufacturing environmentLean thinker, demonstrated passion and experience implementing and working in a Lean environmentProven ability to develop a culture of safety and 5SProven leader who can drive success through daily task management and accountability.Demonstrated success in leadership development and effective succession planningWorking knowledge of SAP a plusCompetenciesSafety OrientationQuality OrientationLean ThinkerTeam DevelopmentDriven by ResultsAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines
