This role is critical in ensuring reliable energy delivery and requires hands-on fieldwork in a variety of environments, including emergency storm restoration situations.The ideal candidate is experienced in overhead and underground electrical systems and thrives in physically demanding, team-oriented environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLine Construction & MaintenanceInstall, repair, and maintain overhead and underground distribution and transmission linesSet poles, install crossarms, transformers, insulators, and related equipmentString, sag, and clip conductors according to specificationsStorm Restoration & Emergency ResponseRespond to outages and storm-related damageWork extended hours, including nights and weekends, during emergency situationsSafety & ComplianceFollow all OSHA, company, and utility safety standardsUse proper PPE and maintain safe work zonesParticipate in daily safety briefings and job hazard analysesEquipment OperationOperate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other heavy equipmentPerform routine inspections and maintenance of tools and vehiclesTeam CollaborationWork closely with crew members, foremen, and supervisorsCommunicate effectively to ensure safe and efficient job completionQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a recognized lineman apprenticeship program preferred2+ years of experience in line work (distribution or transmission)Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain)Knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipmentAbility to read blueprints and follow technical instructionsPhysical RequirementsAbility to climb poles and work at heightsLift 50+ lbs regularlyWork in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, storms)Stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasksPreferred QualificationsExperience with storm restoration and emergency responseFiber optic installation experience (a plus given Axis Power's services)First Aid/CPR certificationKnowledge of switching and grounding proceduresKey Success TraitsStrong commitment to safetyReliability and accountabilityAbility to work long hours in high-pressure situationsTeam-oriented mindset with strong communication skillsPowered by JazzHR
