We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Suppression Technician to join our elite field service team. This position is ideal for a well-rounded technician with deep code knowledge, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to customer-tailored service, integrity, and reliability.Position OverviewThe Fire Suppression Technician is responsible for inspecting, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of fire and life safety systems. This role builds upon fire extinguisher and kitchen suppression responsibilities and expands into advanced pre-engineered systems and related fire protection technologies. Technicians in this role are trusted subject-matter experts who can identify deficiencies, explain code requirements, and deliver compliant, high-quality solutions in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesFire Suppression & Life Safety SystemsInspect, test, service, and install:All types of fire extinguishersCommercial kitchen fire suppression systemsPre-engineered fire suppression systemsRelated fire alarm and security system components (as applicable)Troubleshoot and identify defective components within pre-engineered suppression systemsPerform on-site emergency troubleshooting, repairs, and system restorationsIdentify NFPA code violations and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actionsCodes, Standards & ComplianceDemonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of NFPA codes, standards, and system requirementsInterpret, apply, and clearly explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations to customers and internal teamsEnsure all inspections, repairs, and installations meet federal, state, and local code requirementsTools, Equipment & Field OperationsUse required tools and test equipment, including:Power machine grooversPipe cutters and band sawsLifts and laddersHand and power toolsRepair or replace fire extinguishers and pre-engineered suppression systems as neededSafely operate and maintain small/light equipment and medium machineryInspect and maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment, submitting repair requests as necessaryDocumentation & Customer CommunicationAccurately document inspections, deficiencies, repairs, and testing using a company-issued smart deviceCommunicate findings, code issues, and recommendations clearly and professionally with customersRepresent Safety Control with professionalism at all customer sitesRequired QualificationsCurrent FEL-A license issued by the Texas State Fire Marshals Office OR ability to obtain an FEL-A within 30 days of hireStrong working knowledge of fire suppression systems and applicable NFPA codes and standardsClean driving recordAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningHigh proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipmentExcellent troubleshooting, organization, and communication skillsStrong punctuality and ability to work independently in the fieldPreferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)Fire Alarm License (Texas)Major plus and includes an additional pay increaseManufacturer certifications (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde, etc.)Experience with integrated fire alarm, suppression, and security systemsWhat We OfferTop-tier hourly pay, based on experience and certificationsAdditional pay increase for Fire Alarm License holdersCareer advancement opportunities and ongoing technical trainingLate-model company vehicle, tools, and uniforms providedBi-weekly personal cell phone reimbursementGenerous paid time off with tenure-based increasesEight paid holidays per year401(k) retirement plan with company matchLong-term stability with a fast-growing fire and life safety contractorWhy Safety Control?At Safety Control, we are driven by customer-tailored service, integrity, and reliability.
